The Little Manatee River is a beautiful, peaceful and slow moving river that runs through southern Hillsborough County. During high water the five mile paddle from the Highway 301 Put-in (see the Map) to the Little Manatee State Park (officially designated as the Little Manatee Canoe Trail) is an excellent tour through remote forests. You will need to arange for transportation between the put-in and take-out. During low and normal water levels a good alternative is an up-river paddle from the 24th Street Put-in to the State Park (and beyond). Done as a round trip, this paddle covers about eight miles.
